Friday Kitchen Coordinator News

We are very excited to welcome Dean Little to the team as the new Friday Kitchen Coordinator!

In the past year, Dean has become increasingly involved with Many Rooms— even participating in one of our Rough sleepers weekends.

We asked Dean a couple of questions to get to know him and his vision for the Friday Kitchen.

  1. How did you decide to apply for the position as the Friday Kitchen Coordinator?

I decided to apply for the position feeling called into it. I have been a chef for 12 years and from when I had started my apprenticeship, my wife (also a chef) and I had the vision of making a difference to the lives of the homeless through our trade. We felt this was good timing to see that come into fruition.

2. What are you most excited about as the Friday Kitchen Coordinator?

Being with brothers and sisters, creating an environment where we can serve and develop relationships with people who are less fortunate.

3. What do you hope to see happen this year at the Friday Kitchen?

I hope to see people’s lives changed, for hope and joy to be shared, and for compassion and relationship to thrive—that those in darkness may see the light of Christ.

4. What plans do you have for the Friday Kitchen?

Oooooh, I plan to make nutrition a focus both in the meals that are prepared and in the education of both the volunteers and participants.
Community Development plans are in development…stay tuned.
